The difference will appear here

Pick a start date and an end date, then select Calculate difference.

How the difference is counted

The calculator counts on the real calendar. It finds the complete years and months between your dates, then the days left over, and separately the exact number of days.

  • End date not included (default): 1 January to 2 January is 1 day, the same as counting the nights in between.
  • End date included: both days count, so the same dates give 2 days. Use this for leave, event days or a rental period.
  • Leap years are handled: 29 February is counted whenever it falls in the range.
  • If the end date comes first, the dates are swapped and the result tells you.

How to use it

  1. Choose the start date.
  2. Choose the end date, or leave it as today.
  3. Tick “Include the end date” if both days should count.
  4. Select Calculate difference. The result updates as you change the dates.

A worked example

From 1 January 2026 to 25 December 2026, without the end date:

  • 1 January to 1 December is 11 complete months.
  • 1 December to 25 December is 24 days.
  • In total that’s 358 days, or 51 weeks and 1 day.
  • 256 of those days fall from Sunday to Thursday.

Ticking “Include the end date” counts 25 December too, giving 359 days.

Frequently asked questions

Is the end date counted?

Not by default: from 1 January to 2 January is 1 day. Turn on “Include the end date” to count both the first and last day, so the same dates give 2 days. That’s useful for leave, events or rental periods.

How are months counted when they have different lengths?

Months are counted on the calendar, not as 30 days. From 15 March to 15 April is 1 month. If the start day doesn’t exist in a later month (for example the 31st), that month’s last day is used.

What if I enter the dates in the wrong order?

The calculator swaps them and tells you, so you always get the positive time between the two dates.

What does “excluding Fridays and Saturdays” mean?

It counts only the days from Sunday to Thursday, the usual working week in Bangladesh. Public holidays and other days off aren’t known to the calculator, so subtract them yourself if you need exact working days.

Are leap years included?

Yes. The calculator uses the real calendar, so 29 February is counted whenever it falls between your dates.
